The situation

After COVID, school districts across the US faced deep math learning loss, hitting low-income schools and Black and Latino students hardest. Existing platforms couldn’t adapt in real time or fit how a classroom actually runs.

Knomadix set out to close that gap with one AI operating system for lesson creation, live instruction, performance tracking and tutoring. That meant three very different users in one platform: teachers, students and administrators. AI feedback had to make sense to a ten-year-old and a district admin alike. And remedial, advanced and special education needs had to be served without building three separate products.

What we did

We designed a layered UX system across web and tablet, so each person in the room gets a view shaped for them, on one coherent system.

• A no-code authoring tool, so teachers can build adaptive lessons without engineers.
• A real-time coaching interface powered by AI.
• One design system underneath every view.

We built it alongside DeSoto ISD and the Big Thought Institute, so the flows matched how classrooms really work.

The result

• District-wide adoption in DeSoto ISD, Texas.
• 2.5x to 7x gains in STAAR math proficiency against state averages in pilot programs.
• Featured on NBC DFW’s “Carter in the Classroom” as a leading AI-powered math model.

The model isn’t the product. The interface that makes its feedback trustworthy to a child and a district admin is. That surface was the work.
