Best motion design agencies for product UI (2026)

Five studios that design motion inside apps, not marketing videos: how they work, who they fit, what to watch for. We are one of them.

Most “motion design agencies” make explainer videos and ads. That’s a different job from motion inside your product: the tap that confirms, the state that changes, the moment that rewards someone for coming back.

We looked for studios that do the second job and say so on their own sites. There are fewer than you’d think. Some are big product studios where motion is one part of the work. Some are one person who is very good at Rive.

We put ourselves first. Below is why, and when you should pick someone else.

Short answer: for motion designed into an app and handed to your developers as working files, talk to Precious Studio or Maximized Studio. For Lottie animations on a monthly plan, Motion The Agency. For a flagship product built end to end with motion in it, Cuberto or Ramotion.

1. Precious Studio

What we do. A UI/UX design and app development agency in Austin since 2015. Motion is part of how we design, not an add-on. Interactive animations are built in Rive with the interaction logic inside the file as state machines. Simple loops stay in lightweight Lottie. Developers get files they can trigger, so they don’t have to guess.

Why first. Our motion work is tied to results. At Lumin Fitness, a motion-first redesign of the app came with a 41% lift in 30-day retention. A 60KB Lottie bundle became a single 5KB Rive file, and Lumin’s developers wrote zero animation code: they triggered states through API calls. At Pilot, motion in Rive, Blender 3D and Lottie shipped as part of the design system, so every new feature moved the same way.

How it starts. A 30-minute call.

Pick someone else if you only need a one-off marketing animation. We design motion inside products.

2. Motion The Agency

What they do. A London-registered studio with a remote team. They list UI animation as a service: loading and progress, UI states, microinteractions and navigation. They say Rive or Lottie animations are ideal for sign-up flows.

Why they’re here. Clear, public pricing and real UI work. For Open Money they made 40+ UI animations delivered as Lottie JSON files. For ClickUp they made in-app onboarding tutorials. Fixed-price work starts at $3,480 and subscriptions at $3,950 a month, according to their pricing page.

Watch for. Their roots are video, and most of the UI work they show is on websites and marketing surfaces. Ask for interactive, state-driven work inside an app.

3. Cuberto

What they do. A product and creative studio founded in 2010, with offices in Alexandria, Virginia and Prague. Their UI design step covers “interfaces, interactions and motion”, and their creative development brings work to life with motion, 3D and code.

Why they’re here. They design and build the whole product, so the motion is designed and coded by the same team. Their product design page shows FIND, a real estate platform done end to end: identity, UX/UI, motion and development.

Watch for. Motion comes inside full projects. There’s no standalone “animate our existing app” offer, and much of their recent showcase is marketing websites.

4. Ramotion

What they do. A design and development agency in the industry since 2009, with US offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. Motion design is listed alongside ongoing UI/UX design and front-end and back-end development.

Why they’re here. They list developing micro-interactions for Salesforce’s Lightning Design System, which is system-level motion work at a large company.

Watch for. Motion is one line item, not their focus. Their contact page speaks to CMOs and design directors, so smaller teams should ask about fit early.

5. Maximized Studio

What they do. A Rive specialist in the Netherlands. In their words: “Interactive, state-driven motion built in Rive and shipped inside your product. Not video files, not Lottie loops.” They deliver the source .riv files, a map of the state machine inputs and integration examples.

Why they’re here. It’s the most focused product-motion offer we found. A typical first project is one high-impact moment, delivered in one to two weeks, according to their Rive page.

Watch for. It’s a very small studio led by its founder, and there are no client case studies on the site yet. Good for one moment in your app, less so for a whole product.

Questions buyers ask

What is product UI motion? Animation inside your app or web product that responds to what the user does: confirming a tap, showing a change of state, guiding attention, rewarding progress. It’s different from a marketing video.

Rive or Lottie? Rive for interactive animations that react to state, because the logic lives inside the file. Lottie for simple loops. Many products use both.

Does motion actually change results? It can. At Lumin Fitness, a motion-first redesign came with a 41% lift in 30-day retention.
